Greulich Culture Foundation awards critic of Le Temps, Geneva
The Greulich Culture Award 2008 for Alexandre Demidoff
He maintains a literary style, as meek as precise, lets recognize his admiration for the beautiful just as like the learned view and an unimpeded journalistic passion. For these qualities and several others, Alexandre Demidoff will be rewarded on the 14 March 2008 with this years Greulich Culture Price 2008. Annually, the Greulich Culture Foundation, awards its price for exceptional achievements in the Swiss culture journalism.
This year's prize winner, Alexandre Demidoff is critic of the renowned daily newspaper Le Temps who is published in Geneva, and is a specialist for dance and theatre. For the first time since the Greulich Culture Foundation was established in 2005, it goes to a journalist from French-spoken Switzerland. The price is remunerated with CHF 10´000. Alexandre Demidoff is the third prize winner after the music critic Susanne Kübler (Tagesanzeiger) and the architecture-journalist Gerhard Mack (NZZ am Sonntag).
With this year's award ceremony, the Greulich Culture Foundation raises its focus on the quality of Demidoff’s reports and articles about ballet and dance. The award for Alexandre Demidoff results on recommendations by the Réseau Danse Suisse, that was called by the foundation to advise as a jury. With its decision for Alexandre Demidoff, the jury lauds its steady engagement for a modern vision of ballet and dance and at the same time the stylistic brilliance of this critic of Le Temps.
